Jennifer Sarah Dean is a British/Australian director based in Melbourne. After working as an actor for a number of years Jennifer transitioned to directing in 2014 and has a varied career directing everything from main stage productions, musicals, classical texts, adaptations, new writing and independent productions.
Jennifer founded the Melbourne Shakespeare Company in 2016 and continues to work as their Artistic Director. Jennifer has directed their productions of The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, Love's Labour's Lost, Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Tempest.
Outside of Melbourne Shakespeare, Jennifer is a freelance director and has directed Travesties (45 Downstairs), Holy Cow! (45 Downstairs), Tape (Courthouse), Festen (Ripponlea Estate), The Haunting (Atheneum) and Ghost Stories (National Tour).
